The 4 Most Simple Hair Care Tips For Dry Hair
I know those of us with dry hair often get frustrated trying to keep it manageable, moisturized and healthy. More times than not, it can seem like no matter what you do that it’s just going to be dry, frizzy and unruly regardless of what we do. However, there are things that we can do to make it easier to manage, and healthier overall.
So, I decided to write an article about the couple of things that I personally, absolutely could not go without doing in order to keep my naturally dry, frizzy hair at its most healthy and most manageable. If you’re interested in what those couple of simple things are, then continue reading.
1.) Wash your hair every other day
I know some of you may think that it’s dirty to do that, but I’m not saying go without a shower all together. I’m simply saying don’t wash your hair every time you shower. When you wash your hair, what does it do? It cleans it, right?
Therefore, when you use shampoo, it cleans the dirt, pollution and oil. Well, having some oil in your hair is good, and shampooing removes it all. So, if you only wash every other day, then you’re allowing some of the oil to remain in your hair.
Back in the 1700’s to the early 1900’s, women would brush their hair 100 times before they went to bed because their hair would be really shiny and healthy looking afterwards. The reason their hair would be so shiny and healthy looking is because they were brushing the oils from their scalp through their hair.
Even though they didn’t know what all we know now about hair and self-care back then, they honestly had the right idea! The thing is, is that we can still do that. You don’t necessarily have to brush our hair 100 times, but skipping a wash here and there is great for dry hair!
2.) Use Leave-In Conditioner After Every Wash
If you use leave-in conditioner after every time you wash your hair, then it will help keep it moisturized and more manageable. I refuse to skip this step in my hair care routine. I’ve been using Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Intensely Smooth Leave-In Conditioning Cream for the past couple of years. I love the way it makes my hair feel. It smells great and it’s a great price as well.
Drinking water is good for your body in general, especially when it comes to your hair. Drinking water regularly helps strengthen it to grow longer faster. Drinking water on a daily basis is so good for you, your skin, and your hair that I took the time to write an entire article on it not that long ago.
4.) Use Hot Oil Treatments Regularly
Use hot oil treatments once every two (2) weeks, and once a week for extra dry hair. If you instill this into your hair care routine, then I promise you that you will notice a major change in your hairs look and feel.
