Introduction
It’s that time of the year again! The time of year where Summer has ended, and Autumn has begun. That is unless, you’re on the east coast of the United States in the state of Maryland, and Mother Nature has decided to completely skip Fall, and just go straight on into Winter. All jokes aside, it’s that time of the year that Winter is right around the corner (or in some cases it’s decided to arrive early).
We all know that Winter means chillier, colder or that downright freezing weather is upon us. It also means that the air is drier, which makes our skin drier too. I actually wrote a whole article called “Want to prevent dry skin this Winter?” that talks about the science behind why exactly our skin is drier in the Winter compared to Summer. Check it out if you want to know that, or how to prevent your skin from getting dry other than using lotion.
There’s so many different products that are out there, especially when it comes to skincare. It can sometimes be difficult on actually making a decision on what to buy. So, Nicole’s Notable Nook has put together an amazing list of nine (9) notable lotions and creams that treat your skin great! You’ll be able to stay soft and smooth all Winter long. No more drying, cracking, or flaking!
The Best Body Lotions Your Skin NEEDS This Winter!
1.) Gold Bond Lotion Healing With Aloe
Product Details:
- Dermatologist tested
- Hypoallergenic
- Aloe Vera
- Vitamin C and Vitamin E
- Penetrates through 10 layers of skin
Authors Note:
I know a lot of people think of foot powder when they think of brand Gold Bond, but their lotion is phenomenal. I would say that every version of Gold Bond Lotion that I’ve used is amazing! They’re all really thick and moisturizing. This one in particular is really great to use in the winter because it’s extra moisturizing.
2.) Vanicream Moisturizing Skin Cream
Product Details:
- Dermatologist Tested
- Great for acne prone, or sensitive skin
- No common chemicals irritants, such as dyes, fragrances, parabens and formaldehyde releasers
- Fragrance Free
- 5 out of 5 Stars from the National Eczema Association (NEA)
Authors Note:
I actually just began using Vanicream products a couple of weeks ago, and I’m so glad I took the time to try their products because they’re great. Vanicream Moisturizing Skin Cream is thick and extremely moisturizing!
3.) CeraVe Moisturizing Cream
Product Details:
- Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer
- Ceramides
- Dermatologist Recommended
- Gentle enough for everyday use
- National Eczema Association (NEA) seal of acceptance
Authors Note:
I absolutely love this CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, as well as the rest of their products. Your skin feels so soft after using this lotion!
4.) Supergoop Body Butter
Product Details:
- SPF 40 to protect against UVA and UVB rays
- Antioxidant rich ingredients, such as sea buckthorn, argan & meadowfoam seed oil
- Hydrating fatty acids & vitamins
- Natural scents of eucalyptus, clove and vanilla within the body butter
Authors Note:
I remember when I first heard about Supergoop, and I thought their name was funny and cute! However, their product means business! This luxurious lotion penetrates the skin quick, and makes your skin feel so soft and supple.
5.) Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream
Product Details:
- Fragrance free
- Great for eczema and dry skin
- Soothes dry, itchy skin
- Contains emollients and humectants clinically proven to bind water to your skin to create moisturized skin
Authors Note:
I love Cetaphil. I actually not only have this, but have their face wash and the matching AM and PM face moisturizers. This lotion is awesome! It calms my dry itchy and psoriasis-prone skin. I love it!
6.) EltaMD Moisture Rich Body Cream
Product Details:
- Dermatologist recommended
- Hyaluronic Acid
- Vitamin B3 for dry and flakey skin
- Mango Butter
Authors Notes:
I’ll be honest, I have never used this eltaMD product. However, I’ve found that a lot of the women I’ve gotten opinions about lotions on through twitter and facebook have mentioned this lotion by eltaMD. Therefore, they get a spot on the list!
7.) Eucerin Advanced Repair Body Lotion
Product Details:
- Fragrance free
- Recommended and used by dermatologists
- Moisture lasts 48 hours
- Contains Ceramide-3
- paraben free, fragrance free and dye free
Authors Notes:
Eucerin is a great product as far as really moisturizing your skin. However, some of their products do tend to have a greasy feel when you apply it, but it doesn’t feel like that after it soaks into your skin. Thankfully, this one doesn’t have that feeling though.
8.) Lubriderm Advanced Therapy Moisturizing Cream
Product Details:
- Dermatologist developed brand
- Fragrance free
- Lipids, Vitamin E and Pro-Vitamin B5
- Lasts 24 hours
Authors Note:
Lubriderm is not just a classic brand of lotion for no reason. They’re a classic brand because they’re a trusted brand. They’re a trusted brand because they’re a good brand. Lubriderm makes great products, including this lotion. This lotion does exactly what it says!
9.) Sol de Janeiro Deeply Moisturizing Coco Cabana Body Cream
Product Details:
- Moisture lasts 72 hours
- Acai (antioxidants)
- Coconut oil and cupuaçu butter (fatty acids)
- Cruelty-free, vegan, gluten-free, paraben-free, etc.
Authors Note:
I know a lot of us think of the summer when we think of Sol de Janeiro. Their original Bum Bum Cream is super moisturizing already. However, their Deeply Moisturizing Coco Cabana Body Cream is that much more moisturizing, and is perfect for when those colder months come along. It smells amazing too!
